Just 4 1/2 miles north of Port Orford, Oregon off of Highway 101 lies the pristine Elk River. Home of the Elk River Fish Hatchery, The Elk River is host to some of the best salmon fishing in the United States. The cool fall rains bring fresh runs of fall chinook salmon and Coho (Silver)Salmon, a true fisherman's paradise. You'll also find trout and winter steelhead during the holiday season.

The spectacular beauty of the old-growth forest, gushing waterfalls and abundant fishing makes the Elk River an ideal location for a relaxing weekend. Don't forget your fishing license and a camera!
